Never a "bench fee" for evaluating a problem or a consultation and no charge for tube testing with a Hickok tester. No ups or extras for working on printed circuit amps. I hate people who dream up that kind of stuff.

Modestly priced wellness exams and prepurchase inspections for newly acquired gear. Bought an amp on fleabay lately? The implications should be self evident.

Hey, Ive lived in Des Moines for about 2 years, looking to join or start a band that knows what their doing, has connections, and wants to make this thier job. Money is not an issue, i make good money and have my own vehicle, been playing bass for a few years now, also play guitar. Influences range from foo fighters, garbage, nirv, stone sour, 3 days grace, etc. I have professional gear, i have access to a full recording studio that is famously known to musicians around here. I have some connections but we will need to bust ass as well , this wont be just a band where we wish and hope it happens, but not do anything about it. i moved here from texas, dallas, and if we need to can set up some shows down there any time at local venues that usually bring in at least a good crowd evey night. i also know a guitair player that is recently looking to join a band too as a guitar player, rhythm or 2nd guitar player. his style is a little more heavier then mine but he can play anything. I am 25, he is 23 or 24 i forget his age, but were not a packaged deal, he has his own stuff going on too band wise. but just a thought if someone needs a bass player and a rhythm guitrist. I do have stage experience, and played infront of 10,000 people before, i know its nothing huge or anything but i do have experience, with recording, touring, everything. I am working on booking a few more shows for "The Search For Bigfoot" Tour featuring Kritical Kontact, Nobuddie and MC1980. We are looking for a date in the Des Moine area on February 16th (we will be coming from NE on our way to WI) and I was wondering if anyone on here may be able to help us out or point us in the right direction. We had followed a few leads for venues/artists in the area but havent found anyone to work with on cementing a show yet. We would be looking for a venue and a local artist or two to paly with. You should spend more time getting to understand what you are playing. You call the blues "crap" that nobody played until the 1990's. Robert Johnson, Pinetop Perkins, Muddy Watters, Howlin Wolf and a bunch of others would tend to show you wrong, since these guys span from the 1920's to the 1970's. Led Zepplin, Steppenwolf, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles, all had Blues music on their albums, and Classic Rock & Roll is based off of the 12 bar blues. I have 47 years of experience playing guitar, and have played on stage with many of the bigger names from the "Classic Rock" era. If you dismiss the blues as crap, you miss the foundation of all the best rock and roll that was ever written... If you don't believe me, look at older Beatles, Stones, Zepplin, Kinks, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly and other great '60's bands and see how many times you see the name "Willie Dixon" as the author of a song. You will also find as you get older that the better musicians don't have the time to insult the music that other people play.

THE NITTY GRITTY: I am running this studio out of my basement till I get a more perminent location this spring. Its a little rough around the edges but hey, for 20 bucks an hour I will get your band a final product that will sound like it cost a hellava lot more.

About the studio: Yes, it is a home studio (for now). I am running ProTools through a digi 002 (8 channels). I have some cool plug ins for it: Melodyne (plug-in), Pod Farm (emulator), Addictive Drums, and many cool synths. For mics I have a AKG perception 220 (lushy lush vocals), Audix DP-7 drum mics (very nice drum mics). and various dynamics: sm57's, I5's and such. My gear at your disposal: Hartke Bass rig, Pearl (maple) "prestige session select" drum set, 1969 Ludwig (maple) drum set, Zildjian and Paiste cymbals, Micro Korg Synth Vocoder, Yamaha midi keyboard, full PA system, and many misc instruments.

About me: I am an Des Moines native that spent the last 10 years playing and touring across the US. I have operated studios in Florida, Georgia, and Portland Or. I have a degree in audio engineering from Full Sail (orlando, FL). I have countless hours of studio time being performing and/or engineering/producing.

My goal with Black Cat is to create the most comfortable, creative, and enjoyable space for musicians to bring their beloved music to fruition. I am extreamly easy to work with, knowledgable, and am most happy being creative with like minded people and artist. I stand by my work!

I've been out of practice with my vocal conditioning for a few years and in light of a death in the family it has encouraged me to get back on track with what I want to do with my life.

I'm looking for a serious vocal coach who is willing to train me back up to tip top condition and teach me a few new things. I am willing to pay a fee, and would like to meet once or twice a week.

Some of my history with music involves being in choir from 2nd grade-12th grade. I was in the West Michigan Choir for Girls for three years and in the top ensemble for two of those years. I was in sectionals for 11th and 12 grade and was put in the first ranking both times.

I've had experience playing multiple genres ranging anywhere from trip-hop to death metal to pop. I'd like to start some sort of ambient project with lots of profound feedback with heavy heavy heavy metal influences throughout the song. We will get along as long as you dont pee on my rug, it really ties the room together..
so basically im looking to get into a band or start a band that wants to be ready to do some gigging this spring and so on. and eventually record maybe a 3-5 song demo. Ive been in a band or two and been helping out with other bands when they need a fill in. Right now my schedule is messed up, but in the next month I will be much more open. I been playing guitar for about 8 years, with the last 3 years being more of a every day thing for a few hours, with the first 5 years just a few hours a week. I dont enjoy long walks on the beach. My style is different, it depends on my mood and situations going on that is what comes out of my fingers. I can play Riffs style like slipknot and killswitch, to a little more style like Tool intros, to slower acoustic stuff. Mainly im looking for a rock band that is a little more on the heavier angrier side. I have learned from some of the best local musicians in this town and also in other towns. Right now I am working with a band that we have a few shows coming up in the next 2 weeks, and 1 big show in minneapolis opening for T.o.a.d. After that is when my schedule will open up. I also have some experience slappin da bass, actuallly no i dont slap the bass but ive played it for awhile. Id really prefer to do some rhythm guitar work in this next band instead of bass but for right music ill do it. I dont drink except once in awhile, i dont do much for drugs any more these days, but if you do i do not care just as long as your not on tweak and trying to stab everybody in the band. ive done about everything but am done with it. anyway if this souns like somethini you might be interested in send me an email.
