I also have some furniture that I don't need, e.g. desk, glass top dining room table/4 chairs that I would be willing to leave in the unit or sell.
Tenant will have use of a furnished bedroom (comfy full sized bed, two drawer night stand, six drawer dresser, five drawer chest of drawers, and good sized closet with a closet organizer, lamps, alarm clock and a fan. I do have a comforter and pillows on the bed, but you could feel free to use your own bedding and you would need to provide your own sheets and your own towels for your use.) One reserved parking space, their own bathroom with a tub and shower, and they will also be able to do laundry in the unit. Our association has a pool and it is open during the summer months only.
The room does not have a cable or a phone jack. The T.V. does pick up local stations with an antenna/converter box, and the living room T.V. has cable which includes Starz, and Encore movie channels.
The tenant would be responsible for purchasing their own laundry detergent, personal, and paper products, food, and other cooking items like condiments, oils, plastic wraps, and foil. I have no problem taking turns buying the consumables that we would both need such as paper towels, dishwashing detergent, cleaning supplies, and other items that we could easily share.
I do expect my roommate/tenant to clean up after themselves, which means cleaning the room and bathroom on a regular basis, and cleaning up any and all messes made in the kitchen or other parts of the condo. I am not expecting help with the regular upkeep around the place.
Owner is a 38 year old single white female teacher, and has two cats, and a puppy - so you must be a pet lover! If you are interested in the room I am more than willing to answer any questions you may have, so don't be afraid to ask.
This situation has worked out very well in the past for people that have done internships in the Des Moines area, or commute to Des Moines and need a place to stay during the week, and people that have a temporary need to be in the Des Moines area for work and/or campaigning. Tenants have stayed anywhere from 3 to 9 months depending on their need.
I am asking for a $200.00 deposit which will be returned if; 1) A 30 day notice is given, 2) The bathroom and bedroom are cleaned to the condition they were found in, and 3) Any of my property was not damaged during your stay, 4) You contributed the consumables mentioned above to the household and didn’t just help yourself to mine. A partial deposit may be returned if not all the conditions mentioned above are met.
If it sounds (after talking) that we will be able to trust each other and get along enough to be able to live together I may check with prior landlords, roommates, and/or other references you provide me.
Apartment is in great condition and ready for moving into! Businesses like Cafe Milo and Ames Racquet and Fitness located within the complex!
