General Information:
Obtains data and information from review of documentation, drawings, schematics and reports, consultation with technical staff members and study of published material. Ensures adherence to specifications. Analyzes requirements, may develop source material, consults engineering and technical staff and works with editors, illustrators and the like in preparing a draft. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Work is closely supervised. Builds stable working relationships internally. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, and other personnel in group or department. Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity. Follows established policies & procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Contributions are usually limited to task-related activities. Errors do not typically have a major effect on the organization. Bachelor's Degree in appropriate discipline or six years related exempt experience. Cooperation - Understands the value of cooperating with coworkers. Customer Service Orientation - Knowledgeable regarding the process of interacting with customers to provide positive experience and issue resolution. Dependability - Understands basic rules, policies, and procedures. Detail Orientation - Understands the importance of monitoring the status and quality of one's own work. - Intermediate electronics skills and recent experience and/or training.
- Experience maintaining, using, or designing aircraft avionics equipment.
- Must be able to extract and comprehend system operation from typical engineering documentation (schematics, software specifications, bus data dictionaries, hardware interface specifications, and equipment specifications).
- Strong attention to detail and personal organization.
- High literacy in MS Word
- High interpersonal communication skills.
- Subject Matter Expert knowledge of some avionics product(s) or product line(s).
- Proven professional attitude toward work assignments, toward customer relationships, and toward company/department Lean goals and vision.
- Must be able and willing to accept responsibility and perform with minimal supervision.
- Be a proactive team player who thinks ahead, plans, and suggests solutions.
- Have positive attitude toward change and inevitable mid-project course corrections.
- Able to travel to support conferences, training, reviews, and pubs validations at customer's locations.
***DESIRED SKILLS***
- Experience in writing or using component-level maintenance pubs such as Component Maintenance Manual, Aircraft Integrated Parts Catalog, System Schematic Manual, and Fault Isolation Manual.
- Basic literacy in structured authoring (SGML, XML) environment (bookplan structure; ATA task numbering; typical DTDs/schema, elements and attributes).
- Experience producing electronic technical data.
- Knowledge of Industry Writing Specification -ATA (Air Transport Association)
- Simplified Technical English (ASD/AECMA version) writing experience
