I have quart jars of homemade black walnut stain for sale, $10 each. the only ingredients in this stain are water, walnut husks and 1 tablespoon of vinegar per jar to keep it from molding. Boiled for approximately 2 1/2 hours this is some really good stain without all the extra chemicals. Strained through 4 layers of cheesecloth to remove as many particles as possible. Trust me, it will stain anything it touches including you. Must be picked up locally, I cannot ship it. The wood in the pictures was done with one pass and a really cheap brush to give you an idea of the color, 24 hours drying time. Oak on the top, black walnut in the middle and honey locust on the bottom. The stain is thin because I did not add any thickening agent such as gum arabic powder, and it soaks in right away. more coats will make it darker.
