For sale is this colorful 12 inch metal tray entitled "In Old Kentucky". It was manufactured in 1912 by American Art Works, Inc. in Coshocton, Ohio and is made of lithographed metal (tin or pressed steel). According to a Google search, this horse and lady design is a well-known vintage advertising "stock tray", sold to various businesses (such as breweries and soda companies) to be customized with their specific brand information. I examined this tray carefully and could not find the name of any business on the front. All I did find was the name of the artist of this design: "Chs. G Collins" .
The surface of this tray exhibits many years of use, so it is not exactly smooth. I don't know if some type of cleaning solution could
be used to clean up some of the imperfections, but that would be your decision to make. My mother did some research on this tray
and taped her findings on the back of the tray. You can certainly remove these notes if you'd like.
