Immigrant trunk, absolutely one of a kind and gorgeous. We purchased at an auction in Winterset over 35 years ago. Our children would store toys/ dolls inside as a toy box. It opened up perfectly at that time, but since the toys were outgrown 20 plus years ago, it was not opened with frequency. The skeleton key is still in the item, but currently doesn't turn, you can use a small screwdriver to pop it open however. Price is absolutely firm.
