This is a five-fold foldout wanted poster from 1923 issued jointly by the U.S.P.O. and Southern Pacific Railroad. Known as 'the last great train robbery in america', the warrants are for the three De Autremont brothers. There is a museum at the robbery site and a yearly festival celebrating the event. The robbery was an international sensation and books have been written about it. There were over 6 million of these wanted posters printed but only a few english copies still exist. One is in the Smithsonian museums postal exibit about the event and one is in the railroad museum. Most were printed in foreign languages and sent overseas since they fled the country after the robbery. The Smithsonians collection is online. They have the dynamite plunger, the burnt mail, etc. that they confiscated after the crime. ALOT of cool history about it.
