RAGBRAI is coming! Ride with your best (or new best) friend! We purchased this bike in Portland Oregon from a couple who never used it. The paint job was a custom option at the factory. There are some nicks in the paint but zero dents or frame issues. Shimano ultegra crank , shifters, cassette, front derailleur and xtr rear derailleur. Gearing is 52,42,30 (triple front) and 11-34 (9 speed rear). This will easily climb any hills you can find. HuGI hubs and Velocity rims. We have lots of bikes and mileage for this tandem has been well under 1,000 in the time we have owned it. Meridian bikes were hand built in a small US shop. The company closed years ago and these tandems are rare to find. I'm 5'10" and my wife is 5'9". Because of the longer top tube for the stoker on the frame, this tandem worked well for us where many brands/models were too short for my wife (stoker). I had the drum brake removed because we didn't need it in Iowa but it can be reinstalled.
