For sale is this vintage and very collectible August 23, 1954 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine. This is issue 2 and features many interesting articles and photos about major sporting events, such as the Wimbledon tennis championship, the U.S.Amateur golf championship, the 75 round bare knuckle boxing match between John L. Sullivan and Jake Kiltrain, and the Gold Cup speed boat race, color advertisements, and a special feature about the world champion New York Yankees.

INCLUDED IN THIS ISSUE IS A SPECIAL FOLDOUT OF 27 YANKEE PLAYERS! 15 are in full color. They are the 15 cards in the 1954 Topps Chewing Gum series (including Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Hank Bauer, and Phil Rizzuto), plus 12 additional black and white cards (including MICKEY MANTLE, Enos Slaughter, Allie Reynolds, and Irv Noren).

This magazine is in fine condition considering its age. No missing pages. No tears. No writing or stains. Tight binding. No rust on staples.
