Peter Komendowski will speak on Aging Gracefully in Wild Places at the Des Moines Izaak Walton League Tuesday, December 2, 6:45 pm, 4343 George Flagg Pkwy (Geo. Flagg & Park), Des Moines 50321. Peter will talk about what it means to move at “human speed” and the gifts of what he calls “traveling at the edge of the material earth.” Peter will also lead a small group discussion on his Boundary Waters Canoe Area adventures in the Des Moines Ikes Crum Center from 5-6 pm. He founded Friends of Iowa Trails and the Iowa Trails Summit and was honored by the National Park Service as Iowa’s Trails Person of the Year in 2013. Peter is retired as president of The Partnership for A Healthy Iowa.
