I have been in the auto customizing and restoration business for nearly 50 years. A personal passion of mine has always been ’55 and ’56 Mercury’s. I can’t tell you how many I have owned, restored, customized and parted out.
As a result I have ended up with a building full of good used, NOS ( New Old Stock) and early Dealer take off parts. I’ve come to the point where I figure I will do a few more cars and then start the car show in a lawn chair routine.
It is time to sell some of this stuff.
This particular part is a good “Drive the Car to the Show” quality piece. It has numerous, pepper sized pits and Sesame Seed sized pits. SHINY CHROME but is showing it's age and some fatigue. Part has INTACT Mounting Stud Holes. Not perfect but all-in-all a pretty nice piece as is or an EXCELLENT one to send to the plater if you want it perfect without spending an arm and a leg.
